Amla Oil Skin Benefits

November 05, 2019

bowl of amla berries

Amla, otherwise known as Indian Gooseberry had long been on my list of ingredients I wanted to use. If you’re familiar with our line, you know that we don’t come out with new things on the regular. Only when I feel like there’s something really missing and that I would truly use every day, does it make it into the lineup. That is why I created our Body and Bath Oil.

Amla oil had intrigued me for some time. It’s a marvel at locking in moisture. And is naturally rich in Vitamin C, Omega-3 and Omega- 6 essential fatty acids.  It’s rich in antioxidants and tannins which simultaneously hydrate, soften and improve overall skin quality.

Amla is popularly known as the Indian gooseberry, which grows on trees. Not to be confused with traditional gooseberries, Amla translates to “sour” in Sanskrit. Additionally, gooseberries are also high in phytochemicals and antioxidants. These compounds help neutralize harmful free radicals.

Amla has long been used in Indian Ayurvedic healing. In fact, the Amla tree is so revered that it has an entire Hindu holiday dedicated to it.

So, you can see why I was so excited to use this wonderful ingredient. I hope you all enjoy our new Body and Bath Oil. Be sure to let us know what you think.  If you have any questions about Amla, let us know.
