November 28, 2018
2018 is the year I had a really big birthday. Hint: It ends in a zero. The upside of that is I’m far pickier about what I really need so only the “little luxuries” tend to make the cut these days. Anytime I find something I really like (read…repurchase regularly), is something I want to share with anyone who will listen.
Here’s what made my Favorite Things List this year:
(Does anyone else immediately get transported back to Julie Andrews singing in the “Sound of Music” when they hear the phrase “Favorite Things?” … “Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…”)
I first discovered Innersense Refresh when I was lucky enough to trial it before it came to market. This formula is lightyears beyond the old days of dry shampoo. It’s been super handy given my amped-up, early morning workout routine. Let’s just say my hair could indeed use a little “refresh.” This is also the perfect size for travel or popping in your handbag if you’re doing a mid-to-late day workout.
Having a November birthday is the signal that the holidays are coming, and I will be tempted, and my healthy routine will be tested. Hum Flatter Me (best name ever, right?) digestive enzymes to the rescue! Research shows that broad spectrum enzymes can help break down lactose, proteins, carbohydrates, fibers, and fats to help improve digestion. Sign me up! Again, this small bottle fits handily into your handbag.
Who doesn’t want to live golden? This tin of turmeric-collagen powder is the ultimate recovery blend, with collagen's amino acids helping to support your body post-workout (or post-life-ing). Read more about their functional ingredients here.
Do you see a little theme here with healthy living? Turning 50 kicked me into high gear, and this is a way to have a post-workout latte, whether it be golden milk style or mixed into a coffee.
The ultimate treat for me is chocolate. Dark chocolate, at least 70% is what I seek out. I’ve long loved Theo Chocolates and even did a factory tour for my last zero birthday as part of the celebration. Not only is this bar delicious, but it does good for the community in Seattle, the place I call home. Proceeds from this bar benefit The Home Shows, a program of Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation to alleviate homelessness in King County. Learn more at pearljam.com/thehomeshows.
Not to toot the Kari Gran horn too loudly, but naturally, I believe wholeheartedly in our products, so here’s one of the first and still one of my favorites.
I have worn Tinted Lip Whip almost daily for the last 8 years. It’s such a great go-to to keep lips hydrated and passes my “overnight test.” Thanks to the Perfector, I now can pamper my lips in a spa-like fashion. Whether I need a gentle exfoliation or just a little mask treatment while I apply my makeup, this mighty little multitasker steps up and performs.
Warmest wishes to you for a happy holiday. “Treat” yourself well!
