Spring is the perfect for the resurgence of pastels like Pantone’s 2016 Colors of the Year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. But if you are anything like me, your style is a combo of black and neutrals with a pop of color here and there. The great thing about fashion and beauty today is that you no longer have to limit your colors by seasons. Black nails in spring? Go for it. How about a bold classic red top? Yes, please. You are no longer required to play by the rules, but let’s say you are looking to freshen up your favorite colors for a fresh new look.

Enter Shimmer – the ultimate spring beauty multitasker. Not just the perfect nude lip, Shimmer is your favorite lip color’s best friend. Blend any color with Shimmer to add golden sparkle with a touch of champagne. You can also swipe on the cheekbone to add a little sparkle that pairs beautifully with blush.

Here at Kari Gran, we like to keep our beauty products to a minimum – quality over quanity. So having a versatile product like Shimmer that plays nice with others is key. For a fresh spring look pair Shimmer with a plum hue (aka raisin for you 80s ladies). Currant’s deep color blends beautifully with Shimmer’s light champagne to meet somewhere in the middle.

Looking for a twist on a wine red like Marsala, Pantone’s Color of the Year in 2015? Blend with champagne to update your favorite fall color for spring. Also, try any of your red lip colors in your arsenal to sparkle with a touch of warmth for spring.

And of course if you are a more-pink-less-red girl, add Shimmer to any hue to give the golden touch and create that perfect coral without going too orange. One of my favorites is to take Jolene, a bold fuscia, and soften it just a touch for the day then brighten back up with a fresh swipe of Jolene for night.
