Kari Gran Product Packaging: A Cool Dark Place

Our skin care products are our pride and joy. However, where there is product, there must be packaging. We knew our skin care products would have to be housed in something as fabulous and environmentally conscious as the product itself.

Here enters our MIRON Glass bottles; a special 100% recyclable dark violet glass that blocks the complete spectrum of visible light (aside from non-threatening color violet), which would otherwise decay the product and make it “go bad.” How do others get away without this fancy packaging? Preservatives. With preservatives, the product can sit on the shelf for eons regardless of its packaging, but we all know the chemicals used for said preservation is bad news!

The other option and one many all-natural brands take are to store product in the refrigerator. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t rock a mini-fridge in my bathroom. And the thought of traipsing to and from the kitchen every time I wash my face didn’t sound super convenient. That’s when I stumbled upon Mr. MIRON and immediately developed a crush.

This European imported glass provides the proverbial “cool, dark place” suggested by many natural products as the ideal storage environment. These sleek dark violet glass bottles are crucial to protecting the delicate oils we use as our ingredients, and major bonus, they look fantastic on your counter or dressing table (if you have a dressing table, I’m jealous!).

The packaging is undeniably unique, and we often get questions. Here’s the scoop:

Doesn’t the glass easily shatter? No, the glass is incredibly sturdy and does not easily shatter when dropped – believe us, we’ve dropped many on our concrete floor and only a few have met their demise.

What size bottles can I travel with?
All of them! The starter kit is a super convenient way to take us with you wherever you go, but everything in the line (even the full-size system) is TSA approved.

How do I know how much product is left?
The dark glass makes it tricky to see what’s inside so it’s best to hold the bottle up to bright light. The violet glass is transparent enough to show the product level. Without backlighting, it’s difficult to tell.

Can you reuse the bottles?
We are trying to be good stewards of the environment but found that the carbon footprint gets much larger when the bottles are shipped back for reuse, not to mention they must be properly sterilized. Please put them in your recycle bin. The tops themselves cannot be repurposed, so please toss those in the garbage.
